Parental rights in state of CA
My ex and I were married & divorced in CA. she now lives in TX, and I in AZ. Divorce and cs are out of ca 2 yrs after both of us have moved away. I haven't been able to see the kids for past 4 yrs. 2 due to ex "hiding" when it was my time for visitation and 2 due to my inability to afford to go to exas. By CA law can the signing awa of parental rights negate the current child support (not the back cs)?

    Hello maniac:

Nope. You can give up rights. You can't give up obligations.

Sorry nope, first you can't give away your rights unless the ex agrees to it. And giving away the rights still does not give up your obligations of child support
