    Hooking up 220
    Removed old stove, existing wiring has three wires, 1 red, 1 black, and one white. How would I make it safe without a total rewiring of circuit? This is a old house.

    What do you mean?

    Was your stove direct wired? What did you replace it with? Do you need ro replace the three wire circuit wit a four wire circuit?

    For the moment, just go to the main service panel and turn the breaker off or remove the fuses.
