    Office Filing
What product is available to use as a check out for office files. I'm looking for something to use in a hard copy file system for when a staff person needs to remove a file from a file cabinet.

You can easily make something of your own using a software program like Excel. A simple recording sheet that the staff logs onto , records the file taken, the day and time, and the check off for return of the file. That kind of sheet can be placed right in the front of the files, or wherever you choose to post it.

    Good luck.

All you need is a piece of paper that lists the name or number of the file, the name of the person who is charging it out and the date that they took it. Put the paper in the place that the file goes and when the file is returned and refiled, throw the paper away. You can find clear plastic folders to hold the charge out paper so it doesn't get crushed or lost between the files. This way, if you go looking for a file, you can quickly see that it's there or it's been charged out without having to go look down a long list.
