    Reducing a petty cash fund
    I have a $500 fund that I want to reduce to $200. What is are the journal entries to get the $300 back in the bank?

    Debit Cash for 300
    Credit Petty Cash for 300

    Since I am trying to deposit the funds in the bank, I tried to debit my bank account and credit petty cash but Quickbooks won't let me use the same account that I am making the deposit to.
