Failure to Yield Ticket - What do you think?
I drive a City bus from 6pm to Midnight. I had just given an elderly man a ride home in my personal car because he missed his last bus transfer. After parking the bus in the garage after Midnight, I returned to the terminal to give him a ride home several miles out of my way. I know that the police are really active these days at night so I'm careful of watching my speed especially in the Mustang I was driving this evening. On the way home while approaching a left turn from a four lane highway to a four lane road, I entered the left turn lane behind two other cars with a green light. When the first car made a U-turn, I notice a Sheriff car at the crossing road with a red light. The car in front of me then came to a complete stop at the green light for several seconds. Hoping to get the Officer's attention and to get the car to move, I hit my horn several times. When the car in front of me finally started his left turn, I followed him. The light turned yellow and because he moved so slowly I was slow to clear the intersection. There was a oncoming car who the Officer claimed I failed to yield to and had to apply his brakes because I blocked his path. I don't believe the car was that close and that he probably ran a yellow or red light. The car in front of me pulled over as soon as the Officer hit his lights and did a U-turn, but the Officer went around him and pulled me over. I wouldn't have been put in that position if the car in front of me had not sat for several seconds at a green light and was probably driving under the influence of something. I think the Officer pulled me over because I was driving my Mustang and because I honked my horn several times. I'm 57 years old with a CDL license and work part time for the city of Evansville, IN.

That's a hard one to prove. How'd it go for you?
