I don't have beard.How do I get proper beard?

You can't. Not that I know of anyway.

Don't shave for a year, and have a barber trim it as it is growing to shape it properly

You can go to all about beards or The Dermatology Blog and these sites give you useful advise on how to grow one and the dos and don'ts on growing one.

You'll have to wait for it to grow,hopefully trimming it into the shape you want as you go.
You'll need patience for that between stage
