It's possible the rotti color is coming through as she would be starting to shed her puppy coat. When the dead puppy coat falls out the coat usually looks much shinier and less 'fluffy' looking.

Other causes of the coat turning red are staining from saliva and sun bleaching, however if the red seems to be appearing in a pattern (like a rotti) then it will most likely continue to redden until the pup has finished shedding.
