I want to know what I can do to try and help my girlfriend find her real parents

Does she have any relatives to ask questions of? -- people who know the adoption story?

We have several experts here who are or have been investigators, so they will see this and add more ideas. I'll watch this thread and PM them, if they don't post something.

I really detest the phrase "real parents". ALL parents are real parents--birthparents, adoptive parents, foster parents, grandparents, step-parents, godparents--the list goes on.

Which of those "real" parents are you looking for?

How old is your girlfriend? When was she adopted?

Those two questions are the most important--other questions will probably come after those two are answered, though.
