    Don't know what to do!
My ex husband never calls, visits, or pays any attention to our 5 year old son. He has moved to another state hoping to get away from child support orders, which he does not pay. I wish he would sign his rights away but he won't. I don't know what else to do I'm just tired of hearing my son cry because he thinks his so called father doesn't love him. Please someone tell me what I can do to get my ex husband rights terminated?

See a lawyer would be my advice. Maybe you'll find some lawyers on this board.
    That would be helpful.
Get a some stranger to set up a sting operation... get him over the border into
Your state and have the police waiting (am I watching too much TV)...
    Or get him on abandoment...
Anyway, I'm a lay person so I really don't know the law. They do have lawyers
Online and they will answer your question... but they ask for $$$$ Still it would
Be much cheaper then a live lawyer. Good luck.

I am sorry, you can not "take his rights away" and he can't even sign them away. It does not work that way, it is a myth that you can do that. If you are remarried and your new husband wants to adopt, then he can sign his rights over to allow the adoption.

Also what "rights" do you want to take away, he does not visit, he moved away, and he is gone and out of your life, that is what happens if he had no rights. So just move on with your life and let you child move on.

Well, technically the "signature" to my posts does "ask for $$$$", but seldom if ever does anyone come through. So yes, it is is cheaper than a "live lawyer". :)

Fr_Chuck answered the OP's questions correctly. The only other thing I would add, Jammy, is that in the U.S. you don't have to devise a method of enticing a fugitive across a state line in order to catch him. We have interstate law enforcement cooperation (including extradition) available.
