    Periods with Depo
On August 22 I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and received the depo shot. I only got one dose that was suppose to last 3 months. Because I no longer have insurance I am no loger able to afford birth control. I had normal bleeding after my csection for 2 weeks. Since then I have not gotten a period and it is now going on 6 months. It is normal for depo to cause you not to have a period for that long? Even with only one dose? I have taken a total of 6 PRENANCY TEST and they all come back negative. Im pulling my hair out over this!! Please someone help!

Well, it is normal for some women not to have a period while on depo provera, and it is normal for some women for it to take quite a bit of time for the period to return. This could be normal for you. But to be sure you really do need to be checked by a doctor.

I understand you don't have insurance, do you have a local health clinic in your area? They can check this too.
