Am I pregnant
No, the fact that you had your period means you are not pregnant.
The above poster is sadly wrong, while getting your period often means you are not pregnant, if you have sex a day or two before your period it is possible, but not likely you could be pregnant. It will not be till you have your next period will you be 100 percent sure.
Also often a women may have light bleeding and spotting for 2 or 3 days for their first missed period that may confuse.
To add to chuck, there have been a few women in my mothers side of the family who have periods all throughout their pregnancies.
Anytime you have sex, you can get pregnant. If you are not ready, you should be using birth control.
It amazes me how little young people understand about reproduction.
It takes only ONE sperm to fertilize an egg. A sperm can live inside you for many days. So the bottom line is ANY time you have penile insertion you run the risk of pregnancy. That risk can be minimized by a variety of factors, but it is never fully eliminated.
So no one should engage in sexual intercourse unless they are fully prepared to have a child.
Fr_Chuck, jenniepepsi and ScottGem are spot on with the advice... and to add... it only takes one... and you had millions inside you at that point.
People who do end up pregnant should never be surprised... because any time they put themselves in the situation, the risk is always there.
