Hyperpigmented by Monobenzone - Blackened by skin

I have been using monobenzone at first amd I achieved a very light complexion and now I am starting to getting the pigments back , now I am as dark as hell ,very patchy dark brown patches all over my body , arms legs and hands

This is a sad story for me,I am planning to use 80% hydroquinone together with steroids to clear it off, I know it is rather dangerous but there is no way left for me

U need 2 go to the doctor and ask for medication instead of going for self medication because it might be verry dangerous

Go to a dermatologist. Its not good to experiment with one's skin.

Welcome to the world of skin lightening and what happens to many people. Often you may find there is little you can do. But you need to see your doctor for professional treatment.

Leave mono alone... give your skin a rest from any product for aleast a week or two... than use something else... going to see a dermatogist you will need a Dr who understands what you want most derma will question why you want to lighten your skin and will not give you what you want... but at the same time it's a double standard since the majority of fair skin people loves to get Tans it OK to ask doctors about what makes you dark but when a dark person want to get lighter its an issue... used Fair & white to put your skin back on track but let your skin rest so it can adjust

I had a problem similar to yours but not with the cream I was using I went to FLorida on vacation... and the sun turn my skin... extremely dark... I think my skin became extra dark because of the cream attracting the suns rays to my skin... I used strong sun block but didn't help at all... I had wait aleast two before I could see my skin lightening up again... was the worst to months of my life... I got so dark no body could recognize me...

Did you use monobenzone? I do not think fair & white could clear hyperpigmentation , it's just not strong enough, I need the real pure monobenzone to clear hyperpigmentation , so I am seeking the real source right now , because the fake creams ruined my skin

Father Chuck , yes but not now ,please believe that I am a strong man and that I would never give up, only to time I can't cure myself I will visit the derm , it is much better off to iron out and get going on the power of my own.

Practices makes perfect , I will experiment and test and test and tests until I find a solution to share.I do not only safe myself , but also the weak ones.

I am going through the same thing. My skin has become darker in patches, much darker than my natural colour. Some parts are totally depigmented, and some parts have white spots or dark hyperpigmentation.

I went to a dermatologist and she recommended phototherapy and Tacrolimus ointment in conjunction with a corticosteroid cream. I am Indian so she said hydroquinone will be very bad for my skin type (olive-dark skin). I originally have light brown skin. Please do not use that concentration of hydroquinone without consulting a dermatologist.

I have ordered my Tacrolimus ointment and corticosteroid cream. I will be using these on my hands for next 4 weeks, then starting my phototherapy 2 - 3 times a week for 6 weeks, then maintenance regime (not told to me yet).

I wanted to know more about Benoquin.
My first question: Does is cause cancer or other skin diseases, or is it safe to use a little concentration of it?

Secondly: I am a Pakistani by origin, but I'm not very dark skinned as I've got a Kashmiri mother. I want my skin to be lighter, if I want "nearer to" a Caucasian white skin without skin damages or harm what is your advice? Pure white or what? Please advise me on this.

Thirdly:
Is it when your skin is COMPLETELY depigmented that you never get dark again, or you don't get dark again even if your not completely depigmented and are just shades lighter? Meaning, do you have to maintain your skin colour once you start getting lighter or not?

Lastly:
Can you use Benoquin after laser hair removal on your body?

Four questions, detailed answers please! I'm scared of getting diseases, don't want to make my life a living hell. I mean, even of you don't look bad and are using it wisely, there is a chance of you getting a disease in the future isn't it?

What concentration of monobenzone did you use?

I used mono. I mixed the powder w retin a for 4 months. I got bright white spots all over me. Not my face! I went to various Dr. they suggested weekly UVA booth $$$
They all told me mono may spark vitilligio... I look like I have it some places are white..
Mono get in your system... it move all over. I got spots in places I couldn't reach after I stopped!. up to 8 months. Later. I was still getting light spots.
Maybe I mixed it too strong. If I had continued, I would be a freak. Spots started going up the back of my neck into my hair... I have a tiny pin head spot on a cheek!
... It's been over 3 yrs. My brown color is coming back in dots inside the bright spots.The dots are lighter & darker. I would love to have my even brown skin back! NOW!

I have mono powder 4 oz. I would love to sell. I paid 295. For 5 oz... from a place in Canada... I can't toss it! Someone will be like me & think it won't work!

If I had to do it over I wouldn't have played w mono.

Leave mono alone. Please. Love your color the way it is. Use natural products, plant based only. I wish I had my even color back. I am 29 years old and my skin is disfigured.

Please do not lighten with any products containing monobenzone. Use natural herbal remedies or plant-based products. Imagine your skin with white patches and dark patches. What if you get discolored on your face, your neck, ears or other areas you cannot hide? Get it out of your head to use these products, now, please.

I am w you 4 yrs later. The spots that filled in are sometimes darker or whiter. I wanted lighter arms & hands...
I have to wear demablend or pay a 150.00 per session might possibly even my skin I may have found a lamp to cut the cost. I don't think I will ever been even toned again/ +

I can't sell the mono I have 4 oz is lot.

I paid almost 300 for 5 oz.

How long has it been since you stopped the mono? That stuff kept working I AFTER I STOPPED.
I'm trying to use peels on my arms. I'm looking for a lamp also

I was reading old posts. There are still a few sellers here lying. Depig.com shut down yrs ago. They were liars & sellers.
When it was discovered they were scammers they banned them then shut the site down. You can't trust people that say this stuff work( not even for 7 mos) 4 months ruined me!
There's no surgery to correct this condition! To the person that said it will cost 15-20,thousand for surgery. Surgery? To do what? Skin replacement?

The only lightening I've seen work is expensive it's the intravenous vit C gluthoine drip adminstred by a professional not bought on eBay or Amazon.

There are so many sites and sellers popping up. If they get shut down they will just spring back up with another website, and here, with new screennames to plug their poison.

I hate everyone who ever sold monobenzone without a prescription. And what's scarier is there are more and more sellers and people trying monobenzone, from the looks of it on this and other forums, than there were 5 years ago there were just a few. Now there are so many people, my mailbox is looking flooded with people messaging me about monobenzone over the past 5 yrs I have been an AMHD member.

Monobenzone actually did lighten my face the first month but it wasn't even and the lightening wasn't anything spectacular, I would say a shade of oilve which hydroquinone Dr Summit used to give, and much cheaper and safer. At least I stopped monbenzone years ago, otherwise I would just look horrid because it just causes more and more hyperpigmentation the more you apply, instead of less!

But I notice since I touched mono, its like my skin is immune to ANY lightening. My derms said its because of monobenzone viscosity nature, it never metabolize out of your system it stays under the skin where the melanocytes are aggravated. So now if I use anymore monobenzone, mequinol, hydroquinone, or any hydroquinone derivative, my skin will rebound and hyperpigment instead of lighten. And that is what has happened. For a few months I tried 1% monbenzone mixed with 5% mequinol, but that too, hyperpigmented me. My skin seems to "remember" monobenzone from years now in any strength and fights back fiercely no matter how little or diluted its applied. Like an immunity! Melocytes develop some sort of immunity to monobezone quickly and keep a guard up, which is darker pigments than you began with, in my experience.

Nothing short of a disaster. TCA peels and laser for me seem to stimulate more hyperpigmentation on the borders, so it won't work unless they can somehow put me in a man-sized laser machine and blast away all the pigments at once! Maybe someday in this lifetime. In the mean while, I have no choice to get a lot of sun and continue repigmenting up to match my new color which is a shade or two darker than when I started in the first place and not at all even :( And the dark patches, are almost blackish and you can see the areas growing day to day as bigger and bigger patches but the good thing I noticed is as the black patches grow, they blend more into the brown skin color, I guess because their color is spreading out more and stabilizing compared to when a new black patch would appear like little bits of confetti.

I just hate it and "BLACKENED" pretty much sums up my experience with mono, too!
