This girl from high school sees me one time at the mall and asks me out on a date to the movies... I say yes but instantly remember I don't have any money saved for the occasion... asking my parents for money would only cause further inconvenience...

What should I do..

Have you actually set a date or decided what movie to see?

Be upfront with her. Let her know that you weren't expecting to go out and don't have the funds right now. See if there is something else that maybe wouldn't cost as much or would be free that you could do. Get to know each other better outside of school.

If she asked you out, she may have been planning to pay. If not, how she responds will tell you whether she was looking for a movie ticket or to get to know you better.
