For me this is embarrassing, see I have a septate hymen and I've known this for about 8 years, and I started having sex last year (I am old enought) and I never had a problem with it up until last night. My boyfriend and I tried a new position and he broke my septate hymen at the top and now its hanging (nasty) and I don't know what to do. I don't want to tell my parents because I've always said I'd wait until marriage and it would just kill them if I told them. Should I try to go to a free clinic and see if they can remove it like without anyone knowing or should I just leave it or what? I don't know what to do, I don't want to tell them until after I'm moved out (in a few months). Help please :(

Don't panic, I had a septate hymen and had the minor operation to get rid of it two years ago, I didn't try sex until after the operation and now its fine. The surgery is quick and easy. Just go to your GP and they'll sort out the rest. You do not want to leave it hanging as I'm pretty sure it is likely to get infected that way. Hope this helps!
