How do I stop a leak coming from a second floor apartment waste stack?
We made sure the seals in the toilet were not leaking. Its coming from a cast iron waste stack. It broke through the ceiling . It started with a bubble. Looks like they have tried to fix it a number of times.

    Hi Justin

You need to open the walls/ceiling and see what exactly the issue is here.

If the horizontal cast iron is the issue then it shouldn't be too hard to cut out the old and replace with new. If you have a longitudinal crack on the vertical piping then this gets a lillte tricker to work with.

Pop back in and let me know what you are thinking here, OK?
