    Getting putty off pipe threads
Hi all. Does anyone know of an easy way to get old plumbers putty off/out of pipe threads? I need to remove the locknut on a bathroom sink drainpipe, and the threads on the pipe are full of old, dry putty |:(

    Thanks

I'm only guessing, but I usually just squirt penetrating oil at stuff like that.

Wire brush the putty off the threads. Good luck, Tom
