Tax Return file as an OPT student.
    Hello,

I am filing my Tax returns first time after getting job. I want to know what are the procedures for filing tax turns as non resident and as an OPT student. I am single and on F-1 visa status.

Unless you moved for the OPT and did not get reimbursed, or were reimbursed with taxable income, you will file Form 1040NR-EZ and Form 8843, plus whatever state tax documents are required.

If you DID move and can claim moving costs, you would file Form 1040NR with Form 8843, plus the Form 3903 to claim the moving costs.
