If your were just acquaintances, he's not obliged to keep up the communication. If you guys are deep friends, well here's a bitter truth, friends always take a temporary back seat ones the other friend finds love.

There could also be the possibility that his girlfriend doesn't like him to associate with other girls.

Just forget him and go hang out with someone else. No point crying over him.
