    Tiling over a plaster wall
I am planning on installing tile over plaster wall in my bathroom. The wall in question is behind my sink and toilet so it won't be exposed to the wetness of a bath or shower. The plaster appears to be in good shape is there anything special I should do to the wall before I start installing the tile? I have read other places to add a latex additive to the thin set is that necessary? Any other helpful tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Matt

    Hi Matt,

Make sure the wall is clean and go. Use a modified thinset mortar, it has the additives in it already. Just add water.

    Hi Matt,
I want to add one more thing in JazMan suggestion. If you are going to fix it with cement so try to spread it maximum on back side of tile. I have one experience with my bathroom. I can check different sound from tile after beating on it. Because, some tile does not have enough cement and may down by hard punch on it. What you think JazMan?
