New ac with heat strip blows out cool air.
I recently (8 months)had a Fedders Ac System installed with a heat strip, but the heat does not seem to work properly. It blows out cool air and takes for ever to warm the house. The contractor has since moved to Dubai so I cannot get in touch with him. Is there anything I can check myself ?
    Thanks in advance.

Have you checked the breakers and disconnects? There should be a breaker in the main panel and possibly a disconnect or breaker at the unit.

    Thanks Scott.
I have checked the Breaker at the unit and it is on. I have also checked the breaker box. The heat does eventually warm up the house but it took 3 hours this morning to go from 67 to 75. The air that comes out of the vents is cool enough to feel like a draught but warm enough to increase the temperature very.slowly

Go to the sticky at the top of the Heating forum. Read through the sections about heat pumps and thermostats. If you don't find the info you need to fix the problem, post back with more details.
