Fences over property lines for 20-30 years
Property lines and fences. Owner of vacant lot did not keep up property. Fences were put up to keep weeds and debri from comeing into ajoining lots. Our fence has been up for at least 20 years. In one place it is 1.55 feet over their property line in anther it is flush with the property line. Do we have the right to keep the fence up, can they force us to move the fence? Who's property is it now, do we have the right to claim it as ours?

It is still their property until you go to court and ask for the property line be changed to your fence. This is called adverse possession, and this is one of the times it is often allowed now adays.
