Theft from an employer under $5000
First time offender, adult, plead not guilty, looking to find out what type of sentence a person would get.

ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

What were the circumstances? Was this a systematic theft or a one time shot? First time offenders will generally not do jail time depending on the circumstances.

I am a first time offender with no criminal record but I did plead not guilty. I had a supervisor that was approving the stuff that I took but later found out that he was charged himself with theft under $5000. Do u know if I would get a sentence of jail time if I was unaware of how he was running things? I'm afraid I will get a verdict of guilty and jail time. Am I freaking myself out?

If the thefts were systematic, then if convicted it may be more serious.
