Permanent residency application and tax deduction
I have recently had an attorney assist in my application for permanent residency in US. Since this will replace my current work TN VISA (temporary VISA), is the attorney fee a deductable expense on my tax?

Yes, on Form 2106 for Employee Business Expenses and then on Schedule A as an itemized deduction.

No. You might be able to claim the work visa expenses but the expenses of acquiring permanent residency are personal expenses and not deductible.

I misread the posting and thought you were applying for a work visa.
