Basically I'm having trouble writing a song...

I would love to try. I am an unpublished writer / artist of my definitely unique own style. I never done music before nor manuscript play style writing but I have been very very curious about it.

Can you lay out some guide lines? Do I need to do the sheet music too? Do you have the melody already?

Do you mind an true blue absolute rookie taking a shot at it? No expectations though okay. I may not have that gift at all so Please allow patience and tolerance. After all I am putting myself out here on the line but it is so exciting! Let's do it!

Well I think I need to know Country, Pop, Blue Grass... what is the genre? Is the mood to be Party Out, Down & Out, Lost Love, Sad - Death, In Ur Face I'm All That! What shall we sing about?? Politics? Life? Love? Death?

If you leave it up to me I tend to run off the emotion of Pissed As Hell, In Your Face, Rock and Roll or Broken Hearted, or Memories. Modd gut wrenching want to cry or hit something stuff.

What type of help you want.

I've been writing my own music since I was 17 and I can tell you this: you have to explore your musical boundaries and find yourself as an artist. Not everyone has the ability to write and entire song by themselves. Just remember NOT to compare yourself to others. I know its hard, but once you lose yourself in the creation process you won't have to "try" to write a song. It'll just come to you.
Also, another thing to think about is the fact that music is a social art. Meant to bring people together. So I would say find some friends who can play other instruments and/ or sing and start simple. All you need is ONE original riff to build off. Don't think about all the technical crap too much. Music theory will help you later
