She should contact her doctor about this pain. It could be nothing more than what is called round ligament pain. This is basically pain associated with the stretching belly and the increased weight of the baby, however, we cannot diagnose via the internet. In the meantime, she needs to drink plenty of water, avoid chewing ice (a favorite craving of pregnant women), take tylenol and warm baths.

However, in the long run, she needs to get this diagnosed properly from her doctor or midwife.
