How do I get rid of dark hair dye at home? Please help!

I'm a licensed cosmotologist, what color was it before you colored it? What color were you trying to get? What color did it turn out? Just asking because there are a lot of different things you can do. Just depends on the results.

If you just want to lighten it up, try a brutal scrubbing with dawn dishsoap. Followed by a very good conditioner.

Thanks for responding-it's a sort of dark reddish-brown, just what I wanted. Only problem is that I have fairly light coloured hair so my roots show up. I don't want to have to keep dying it but do not want to pay for an expensive colour remover.
