The dryer was making an awful knocking sound when I was drying a load of clothes. It then suddenly stopped. I went to check the dryer and noticed the three screws in the center that hold the drum had fallen out. I tried to put them back in, but the drum still did not work. I noticed the belt was off when I pulled it out to inspect the machine. What would I need as far as parts, and how would I install the parts? I believe I would probably need a new center piece (possibly bearings) and a belt. What would be the easiest way to fix this problem. I had the belt come off before, but not the screws. I would appreciate your help.

The best thing to do is to disassemble unit, clean it, and lubricate the rear bearing with white lithium grease when you reassemble it as I am sure you will have problems otherwise. I would get a new belt, too, because it was probably damaged. Get some LockTight for the three screws.
