My 1999 grand prix recently ran out of gas, when I filled it up with a friends gas can however the car started dying after 5 sec of ignition. I tried replacing my MAF sensor and cleaning my throttle body but no luck. Any suggestions?

Fill the tank with more than a token amount of gas. Turn the ignition switch to ON, until the fuel pump in the gas tank stops running; then, turn the ignition switch OFF. Repeat this process two more times. This fully pressurizes the fuel rail. On the fourth attempt, turn the ignition switch to START--the engine should fire right up.
