Hi,Ok My 5 Months Old ShihTzu Dog Has Been Jerking and When She Starts Barking She Starts Barking and It Kind of Freaks Me and My Family Out But It Kind of Scares Me,Because Out Of Nowhere She Will Start doing This. Please If You KNow IF This Is A Trait Of All Shih Tzus Or If Something Is Wrong With Her Please Tell Me Because I Care For Her And I LOve Her.

What do you mean "she starts jerking" ? Will you please give a little more detail as to exactly what she is doing?

I really think she needs to see a vet.

I have a Shih-Tzu also and she does the jerking thing. It kind of looks like a muscle spasm... right? Our 8 month old Shih-Tzu did the same thing. As far as the barking... Shih-Tzus have very sensitive ears. They hear very well and will bark if anything sounds a little unusual. Their ears are so sensitive that occasionally the sound of music or singing or even someone speaking in a high pitch voice will set them off. I am sure she is okay but I would definitely go see a vet just to make sure there isn't something else going on.
