I was wondering if my girlfriend is pregnant? We had sex probably 20 times when she was ovulating (long distance relationship). Exactly 7 days after her final day of ovulation she started getting cramps and feeling dizzy. She feels dizzier after eating and waking up. Within a 48 hour span she she might have filled up a total of one tampon. She told me it was a brown and bloody mix. It stopped for a day and now she's getting a little sticky brown discharge when she wipes. She's not supposed to get her period for another 5 days and has been regular for years. She said she usually fills 5 tampons a day when she's at the height of her period. Also, the kicker is she was on antibiotics when she was ovulating which I heard decreases the effectiveness of the pill. We're both not sure what to think. I think she's pregnant, but her first pregnancy test came back negative.

It's too early to test. All you can do is wait until her period is within a day or two of starting and test with first morning urine. It's quite possible she is pregnant but its too early and this isn't enough information to go on.

Thank you for your response. I am the girlfriend he is talking about, we are both on here. I also have been burping a lot, upon waking up, after meals, whenever. I was pregnant once before last year and burped a lot then too (until now, that was the only time in my life that that happened). I just feel off, not quite myself, and definitely not how I would normally feel during a regular period. Never in my life have I felt dizzy and somewhat queasy when I have a period. Like he said, this period is really light for me. What is kind of weird though is that I had very, very sore breasts and now it stopped around the same time that this bleeding started. Is it possible to be pregnant and have the tenderness stop? I don't remember breast tenderness being significant for me with my first pregnancy. It's just all so confusing with the early, light "period" that stops and starts, dizziness, frequent burping, feeling flu like, random back pain, fatigue. Thanks for any advice. I guess I just need to wait until my expected period day (2/13/2012) before taking any tests?

Unfortunately, its still not enough information to say if you're pregnant or not. Those are also signs of impending menstruation... you could even be coming down with the flu. Also, at this point IF an egg was fertilized it might not have even implanted yet, which is when you might feel symptoms. Most women do not have that many symptoms until they are much further along. Though its not impossible... you see what I mean about testing being the only way to know for sure. Also, it is true that antibiotics could cause bcp to become ineffective. You can test a day or two before 2/13 but to be as accurate as possible, 2/13 is the test date. Just use first morning urine and follow the directions carefully.

Antibiotics completely cause birth control to be ineffective - so if you had unprotected sex I'd be EXTREMELY worried. But from what it sounds like, you guys were careful and used a condom as back up and probably pulled out. Good luck

A condom and the pull out method aren't 100%. Just fyi.

The OP (original poster), could still be pregnant. There's just no way for anyone on the internet to tell her if she is. She gets to play the waiting game. That's all she can do.
