If I failed a drug test for a job can my probation officer find out?
If I fail a drug test for a job while I'm on non-reporting probation, is it possible that my probation officer can find out about it?

PO's find out all sort of things, so yes it is possible for them to find out.

Possible but very unlikely. Did your probation officer recommend you for the job or know anything about the application? Does the busineess you applied with know you or that you are on probation? Without a court order, that information is private and it is illegal for it to be disclosed.

I don't know that it is "very unlikely". You may have had to give certain information that would require the testing lab to report it.

It is very unlikely if the officer doesn't know you applied for the job and doesn't have a court order saying the lab has to give up that information.

Also do you have to provide your PO a list of where you applied for work, did the PO know you were doing the test,

You continue to give misleading information. It is VERY likely that a PO would be aware of any jobs applied for. And a PO doesn't always need a court order to obtain information. It is generally a condition of probation that a level of privacy is relinquished.

A probation officer has no legal right, without a specific court order requsting it, to walk into a lab and request any results. That is a fact. Could the probation officer request the results from the probationer? Yes, but they would have to know you took the test in the first place. It's not like there is some sort of national database that probation officers can query for probationers that have failed a drug screening for a job. Again, unless you live in a one horse town, in a one horse county, it is unlikely that your po will ever learn the reults of that test. On top of that, considering the fact that you are on non-reporting type probation, it is even less likely that they will ever fimd out.

    Hello s:

He didn't ask if it was likely. He asked if it was possible. It is.

scodd, I am not going to get into a fight with you. You are making a lot of assumptions and posting misinformation. This will no longer be tolerated.
