Asking about income from disability and exemptions
I am currently on Short Term Disability soon to transition to Long Term Disability due to a car accident so all this is new to me (and very distressing). On top of the car accident my prior and only rental tenants are suing me for their security deposit. I'll dispense the details however when your only source of income is the disability payments (from my disability insurance company through my employer where I am no longer employed) is there a consideration for this and will my responsibility for debts such as this be waived? This is a financially challenging time and would also like to know anything else that would be considered when on disability? The tenants "broke" the lease which I generously "released" them from it. Just curious. Live in Maryland. Any input would be appreciated. First time on this site. In addition, no I am not renting this home for income. It is a Short Sale now.

Are you asking whether a lien can be filed against your disability benefits OR if your disability benefits protect you from judgments?
