I really do not know very much about this movie, but its aggravating me because I want to know/see it again, but all I have is a few small memories in the back of my head.

So a kid lives on this very ugly old house somewhere far into a forest in a distant country, with very mean parents (or grandparents), and gets a (glowing?) seed, that he plants, it ends up growing into a giant (pumpkin, or tomato, or something! ), then I remember the end of the movie, that giant fruit and he himself are on top of a skyscraper in New York or a big town. And there are thousands watching and police and stauff. All I can remember ;\
