It depends upon the terms of the lease &/or the deposit agreement. Was the pet deposit required only if you had a pet? If so, you may be entitled to have the deposit returned.

Agree, it depends on the terms of YOUR lease, some leases don't even refund for pets, others the landlord has to have the carpet cleaned because of any pet in the home.

Unless you can get the landlord to come though, inspect the property and sign an agreement that you will no longer have any pets.
