    Probation violation in New Jersey
My friend was on the run from a probation violation in Nj for cocaine possession - a very small personal amount (less than a gram)he had 3-4 months left on his probation violated and ran now he was caught with a small amount of marijuana in New York where he lives and was serving his probation from nj - he was reporting to a local probation office in NY my question is what exactly is he facing now that they have caught him his new arrest is not a big deal around here but I was wondering about his probation violatin will he serve the whole term of his probation or just what was left ? Or will he get new probation - I was wondering what would be the most likely outcome thank you anybody who answers as he is a good friend of my since childhood and would like to see him home and straighten out his life

    Hello cem:

The possibilities are endless. Counltess factors weigh in, other than the amount of dope he had. As a matter of fact, that factor doesn't count.

What counts is his record, his age, his disciplinary record, his job, his community support, his family, how long he was running, how much new dope he had, how THAT conviction turns out, how much time he has left on probation, how much money he has, how good his lawyer is, how angry the PO is, how pissed off the judge is, how pissed off the prosecutor is, is the prosecutor running for governor, did his wife give him some last night, and a few others...
