Can an employer just deduct money from your pay without you knowing?
I work for a printing company and my employers just implemented a new rule of making all employees pay for any job that was done wrong, This has been implemented without letting the staff know about it, No meeting was held to inform anybody, Are they allowed to do this?

Not in NYS. ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area. But I don't believe that federal law allows any deduction from wages without employee consent. Even with tax witholding the employee gives consent by signing a W4.

I would contact your state dept of labor to report this.
