How do I remove the Grohe handles?
I have an old Grohe bath faucet. The hot water side will not open all the way. Not sure if it is a washer issue or what. Each side has a hexagonal insert (at least I think), with GROHE labeled on each. I assume I am to pop it out which would expose the screw beneath. I can't seem to even get an eyeglasses screw driver to slide between the seam.

How do I remove the handle? I am including a picture.

    Thank you all.

Ok... tried a little bit, but it damages the plastic. I guess there is no way around it. Thank you VERY much.

That is the only way to remove the cap to get to the screw, good luck.

Cap came off. I see what looks like a brass standard screw. I tried a screwdriver, but all it does is turn, and the faucet handle turns with it and then stops. I don't want to strip the head out. Ugh.

Close the angle valves under the sink open the handle all the way try the screw turn it counter clock wise the screw will come loose take it out then you can remove the handle.

May I know what are you trying to do?

Thanks for the reply. I am trying to replace, I am assuming, the washer. The handle now longer opens up all the way. You get about 1.5 turns and then you can feel something grabbing internally. The hot water trickles out.

    I will try again.

Ok. Got the handle off. But now I can't get the cartridge or whatever you call it out. The hex head won't turn clock or counterclockwise. There was a small U shaped clip that was around the stem of the handle that I removed, but I have no idea what that does. How do I remove the cartridge? See picture.

SUCCESS! I went out and bought a new faucet, but decided to try one last heave-ho and the cartridge finally turned. There were some rather large chunks of green water deposits and I believe that was the culprit for the faucet not opening up all the way. I cleaned out the inside and replaced. Works like a charm again.

    Thank you for your help.
