As a rule, no. Legal matters are "cloaked," protected - as long as someone believed what was said and/or had reason to believe it - you can't sue.
It also depends on the circumstances.
EDIT: I see there is another similar thread. I have asked that they be combined. Together I still can't tell what the story is.
You can always sue but winning is another thing. What exactly was said, by who, where and when was it said. Where you arrested?
