Essex foster care when I was 14
Hello I was in foster care from the age of 14 to only the age of 16 but before then we had social services involved for about 3 years previous. I carry a lot of blame on my shoulders as my mother blamed me for us going into care. I do not speak to my mum as she does not want to know me. I was a bit of a rebel but nothing out of the ordinary. I know my mum has mental health problems and she drinks a lot also we were neglected but I need to know answers. I cannot ask her. I now suffer with depression myself and I cannot seem to let go of the past until I have answers from my questions, my father passed away when I was 10 otherwise I could have asked him. Can anyone help? Xx

    What are your questions?
By Essex, do you mean in England? This is a world site.
    How old are you now?

Yes. Jackie, what sort of questions do you have? Questions regarding your foster care ? We can try to help but don't think we can be of much help with the foster care questions.

    Questions as in:

Why was I put in care?
    Was it my fault?
    What was my mothers illness?
& some other more personal ones

We cannot discuss these matters with you due to Data Protection reasons.
They may tell your mother, as it is data that relates to her directly.

I'm sorry it wasn't better news.
The only way you will know the true reasons would be by getting your mother to approach social services and making a formal request for all the case notes.
