Hunter ceiling fan problem
Ceiling Fan Help \ Ceiling Fan Problems \ hunter fan. It is dated 1995 per the installation instructions.

Fan was working fine. Day later, the fan doesn't work, nor does the remote. I changed the battery.

As a note, I saw my little nice with the control in hand, after that, problem began.

Red light on remote control goes on when you push all the buttons. Remote has reverse button.

The remote controls the fan with off, three speeds and the reverse it also controls the light.

Please, help!

The only thing I can think of is that the code was changed. Open up the battery compartment and look for a set of small switches. If you see them, then follow the procedure I outline in this post.

Check the wiring. Sometimes the twisted wires inside the wire nuts come loose due to improper installation and will cause loss of power to the fixture.

Both are possoble and probable and both require you to get a ladder. The codes your hand held are duplicated inside the canopy on the receiver. All switch on both receiver and transmitter must match. While you are up there take a tester and insure you have a hot incoming black wire. There's no wall switch is there?

They were not the same on transmitter and receiver.

Problem is, I read the instruction manual a little late, it states: IMPORTANT: WHEN YOU CHANGE DIP SWITCHES, MAKE SURE THE BATTERY IN NOT CONNECTED TO THE TRANSMITTER.


Well, happens it was, and I changed them several times at a certain moment. Now the dip switches on transmitter and receiver are the same, red light on transmitter lights up, but still nothing happens, did I ruin the transmitter by not taking the battery off? Is there still something I could try or I have damaged the unit?

No need to start a new thread, just keep posting at the bottom of your old posts. Kill the wall switch to the fan. Remove transmitter batteries and hold a button down for 5 seconds. Check all switches to insure match. Reinstall batteries and then turn on wall switch, all should be good.

Nope, tried with cutting power, taking battery of remote, holding down switch for 5 sec. putting battery back on and turning power on again. Nothing happened.
