Experiencing Back & Abdominal Pains.
Hello, I am an 18 year old male. I recently went on holiday to Tenerife (5 weeks ago), whilst we were out there we took various pictures. I have never been taller than my dad, and on this occasion I have a photo which shows me and my dad at exactly the same heights. Now, this evening I stood next to him in front of the mirror and I realised I was about 2 inches taller than him. Can you have a growth spurt of this height in just this short space of time (5 weeks)? Also, I have recently been suffering from Tension-Type Headaches, these are now getting better. Finally, I have been suffering from Abdominal Cramps and pains generally directly after eating a meal, sometimes accompanied with back pains and sometimes not. I get random back pains, dotted across the entire span of my back, ranging from under the shoulder to the very tip of my spine (varying degrees of pain) generally the pain is of a dull type and not majorly painful or severe, I am capable of continuing to drive and my life is not hindered at all by the pains. I have been getting stomach aches and back pains, sometimes also pain the side of my body and varying pains in my pelvis. Could this all just be due to this rapid nature of growth spurt I might be experiencing, and at the age of 18? If not, what else could this condition be..
Additional Information,
I have recently seen my opitcian, they said my eyes are healthy and are improving.. This must indicate that nothing serious is happening inside my body surely?
I suffer from asthma, which has (over the years) got somewhat better, although I still from time to time get the odd cold which turns into a chest infection causing my asthmatic cough to come back.
I do not get pains when coughing, or moving.. My state is generally fine.
I sometimes wake up infrequently at night and have suffered from mild nausia, slight tiredness (a little more than usual) and I have had 2 bouts of diahrrea in the last 3 weeks, but not severe.
My stools are normally of a light brown or dark brown colour and sometimes are rarely liquidy and most of the time look squishy and tend to sometimes have little white specks dotted on the outside of them. Could this be mucus in my stools?
Finally, I recently saw my local GP/Physician, they said I probably have IBS(Irritable Bowl Syndrome) due to my age and common symptoms.
Oh and last but not least, I have taken some Immodium for the diahrrea, and the last time I tried to go to the toilet I had constapation. Is this a good thing, that the Immodium is working?
Thank you.
Callum.
