I think 12 should be the youngest age you should let your kid get a cartilage piercing.

I think it depends on the law in your State or Country - as well as what your parents think.

I wouldn't allow it before 16.

I think it would be okay to get a cartilage piercing at any age as long as the proper methods are taken to prevent any infections. Cartilage is harder to pierce and it also hurts more than it would on the ear lobe. In my opinion, it would be best to get it pierced professionally so that way you can be told what you need to do to keep it sanitized for proper healing. :)
