    Water problem box gutter
I purchaced a 100 year old farm house w/box gutters.I rarely have a leak at the first level except when I get a blowing rain from the east.I removed the siding sealed around the window replaced the flashing at the roof where first floor extends past second level. And am still problem must be where rain hit face of box gutter but I am not familiar with these types of gutters.Any suggestion?"

Are you talking about a gutter leaking/dripping outside the house or inside? Rain hitting the face of a gutter can not be diverted or controlled by the gutter, it is never inside the gutter

KenMa, is this a two story home? If so, then you may or may not have a problem with your box gutters. If they are sealed well, then the problem is elsewhere.

If there is a leak in the box gutters, it could be coming down into the wall, so the first thing that you need to do is make sure that the box gutters are all sealed well.

If they ARE all sealed well, then next would be to look to the exterior of them (outside edges) AND the exterior of the wall where the leak is coming in.
