What is the exact location of the IAT sensor on the 2001 Ford F-250 Super Duty with the 7.3L Turbo Charged Diesel?
Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensors are usually located on the back of the air intake, between the air cleaner and the throttle body. Look for a 2-wire connector.

Ok, I looked in the air filter box and removed the snorkel between the air filter and the Y-Pipe by the turbo and still haven't found it yet.
Open the truck hood and look to the right side of the compartment. Your air box is located there. Look on the rear side of the air box and you will see a connector that has the IAT Sensor. Open the air box and remove the filter. You will see where it comes in on the back side of the air box. Twist 90 degrees to remove.
Thanks, found it, connected a performance chip to it to try to boost fuel economy, but I don't think it's helping it. This truck isn't driven on the highway very much, more in town driving, but still not getting the fuel economy we are looking for, any other suggestions for this?
Go full synthetic--engine, transmission, transfer case, differentials. That should increase mpg by 10%+.
There are two air sensors. One is on the air filter box and is for high idol. The second one is right behind your fuel filter on the Y of the front of the turbo air tubes. Hook up to the one on the Y. I just put a chip in my 2001 F350 7.3liter today
