How do you get your w2s online from a company that is privately owned?

Making W2s available online is a choice made by each company. There is no law requiring it. The only law is that it be sent by 1/31.

So you need to contact the company's payroll or human resources department and ask if they have made them available and, if so, how to retrieve them.
