Yes it will unless there is an additional problem, which is unlikely.

Get the make model and serial number off the rating plate in the burner compartment of the furnace and look for a York distributor who will sell you a new fan wheel. That's the most reliable way of getting the correct part.

I'd clean the rest of the fan assembly and oil the blower motor if it has oil port at the same time.

Well, you need a new blower wheel for sure, but, just out of curiosity, is the code saying "stuck closed", or "stuck open". Not sure what model and year your york is, but it would be a lot more simple to just replace the complete draft inducer assembly (more expensive mind you, but it can be a real bear getting some of them old blower wheels off the motor shaft, and about the time you replace just the wheel, the motor will go out,, murphys law I believe:))

You raise a good issue. I was interpreting the question as being about the fan that circulates air around the house being broken from the fan motor shaft, which happens once in a while.

You are supposing that the fan in question is the fan attached to the inducer motor that circulates combustion gasses through the furnace. As I review the question again, your interpretation is more likely to be correct than mine.

If that's the case, I also strongly agree with your suggestion to buy the whole inducer assembly as a unit, including the motor, fan and mounting bracket. That is much the siplest and most reliable way to change that out.


Perhaps Danny can clarify WHICH fan is the problem.


Usually I try to clarify vague comments about "the fan" or "the blower," but I neglected that this time.

Hey SP, we can't read minds right? I just guessed draft inducer because of the mention of a pressure switch 'stuck'. Hopefully the OP will come back and let us know more about the problem. As Im sure you are aware, many times we try to help, but never seem to hear back from the original poster. But that's okay with me, as it gives all of us a chance to chat a bit back and forth.
