This is a borrowed truck from a neighbor and was starting fine and running like a watch until the other morning.When I tried starting it it started but was not running smoothly and as soon as I gas it a little gas it died.I have not been able to get it going again since.I have pulled a plug and it clearly is getting gas.I checked for spark but don't know if it is as good as it should be.Could it be the small box bolted to the fire wall behind the coil?

Consider replacing the Ignition Control Module (ICM), AutoZone CR109, $19.99. If the problem persists, focus on the distributor. The box on the firewall is likely the voltage regulator.

It's always good technique to remove and fully charge the battery, which most auto parts stores will do for free, and check all under dash and under hood fuses with a test light or multimeter.

I have borrowed 1985 Dodge 150 truck that I can not get to start up.I have changed the coil and a resister and the battery is charged.I have pulled a plug and checked for spark and it looks fine.Any time I have pulled a plug it has been very wet (perhaps too wet)with gas-so I know it is getting gas.Does this sound like a flooding problem,maybe a stuck float? What more can I do?

Usually, these problems indicate a compromised ignition system. You may have spark, but the timing is off. This often happens when the Ignition Control Module is failing and affecting dwell (timing); hence, the plugs are wet.
