    13 and Anemic?
I have been having my period for 1 year now and I am 13. It in the past has usually lasted for 5 days. But this month it has lasted A lot longer. This month, I have been having my period for almost 2 weeks, and it has not gotten lighter at all (I usually have really heavy periods). I have been REALLY REALLY exhausted lately. I also have a lot of bruises and cuts from like a month ago that aren't healing. Could I be anemic??

Being anemic is a shortage of iron in your blood and if you don't eat, you pass out, which by what you said wouldn't be anemia I don't think.
You could be homopheliac, which means you bleed a lot. I would suggest going to a doctor because it could be something worse.
My advice is make a list of symptoms, then go to the doctor and tell her what's wrong.
Hope you find out what's wrong!

Yes, hon, it is possible to be anemic from having your period too long.

Also, please don't be concerned about homophelia, it is usually boys that get homophelia, rarely to girls.

You should have your Mom take you to the doctor and have a blood test done to see for sure if you are in fact anemic.

Also, maybe have your blood sugar tested, this could be the reason why your cuts and bruises are not healing properly.

I suffered from terrible anaemia due to very heavy periods, my step daughter, who is 12, is having the same problem. Bith our doctors have put us on the pill which help to lower the flow of your periods, and iron pills to re build up the iron levels. Talk to your mum and ask her to take you to the dr. My partner wasn't happy about his daughter going on the pill at such a young age, but she was so poorly it was the best thing for her.

First of all, it's HEmophelia, not Homophelia. :p

Also, it is possible that you are very aenemic, sweety.
You should go see a Doctor immediately.

    Ask about:
    Aenemia
    Hemophelia
    Cervical Cancer/abnormalities.
    Cervical Cysts
    And possibly
Severe Infections which may cause bleeding.

    :(

The only other thing I can think of is Menopause, but you're not over 40 are you? Didn't think so.

    No, it's hemophilia.
