    Brant furnis trouble?
My problem is that my Brant furnace will light and heat up but then the fan never kicks on. I have took off the fan relay wires and bypassed them to see if it would turn on and no luck... I have tried to turn the fan on at the therm. But still no blower. I am thinking it went out because my basement got flooded. The water never reached anything important though just the screen at the bottom of the furnace. Also I ran it with no filter and the blower looks pretty dirty. Could that be the problem? The Blower or fan just won't work what should I do now besides buy a new furnace? We just had a newborn and we are freezing with no where to go...

Take the cover off the burner compartment of the furnace. Obtain the make and model of the furnace off the rating plate in the burner compartment and post it here. I presume you have a Bryant furnace, which is a brand name of Carrier, the largest furnace manufacturer in the world.

Take the cover off the fan compartment. Turn the fan wheel by hand --- does it turn freely or is it hard to turn? Is there an oil port visible at the end of the blower motor?

In general, the fan motor should turn on after the burners have been on for a minute or so. Do you hear the clicking of a relay that might be energizing the motor about that time? Does the motor hum or try to start or get hot trying to start?

It's important that you answer all these questions.

You need to check for voltage going to the motor 115v if you have it.Kill power going to the system and Check resistance of the motor with it unpluged from the control board. Check from common to each speed tap, if open you have a bad motor.
