    Discontinuing Child Support
If the divorce agreement states that the child support will stop at the age of 18 but my former spouse has found information that child support will continue until she finishes college, do I have to keep paying? Does this need to be ordered by a judge? Our dissolution agreement does not state this but it does state that child support will continue until the age of 18.

Found "information" does not change your divorce decree. Your "ex" would have to go back to Court and request that child support be continued. This happens when the law changes, for example from 18 until "graduated from college." Her request may or may not be granted.

The child who is turning 18 has dropped out of high school and is planning to obtain her GED in another state. The divorce decree states nothing about continuing support after 18 weather or not the child is in school or working towards a GED.

So the order says support drops at 18? Then if your "ex" wants it continued past that age she needs to go to Court and get continuing support ordered.

If the court order stays it stops at 18, then it stops at 18, If she wants to modify or change the order, she will have to go back to court
